Course Development

Whether you are developing a new course from scratch or revising a previously taught course, TLC can help. At CCNY, faculty’s content knowledge, pedagogical expertise and teaching styles shape the instructional design process. In TLC we have instructional design tools and expertise to make the process easy and effective. Whether you bring us a course concept, a completed syllabus, or just an assignment or activity, we can work with you to develop your ideas.

Open Educational Resources (OER)

The Open Educational Resource (OER) initiative aims to increase education affordability by lowering textbook costs for students and supporting the use and creation of freely available educational materials on campus. The TLC team of OER fellows work with the OER initiative to train instructors across departments to find and develop OER courses and materials, make their courses accessible, as well as provide technical assistance on building open course sites.

The application is now open for the 2020-2021 CUNY Open Educational Resources (OER) Initiative Award!  Fill out the application form to sign up for one of the sessions scheduled for January 2021.

To learn more or join the initiative email oer@ccny.cuny.edu or download the informational brochure.

Campus Engagement Network (CEN)

The CEN is a new campus-wide program designed to help CCNY develop our teaching in more innovative and engaging ways. This initiative aims to define City College as a place where our teaching, research, and related programming prepares students – and positions the college – to approach society’s biggest challenges with bold solutions and lasting impact. Please contact Professor Garanich at jgaranich@ccny.cuny.edu for more information.

Writing Across Curriculum (WAC)

Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) values writing as an essential method of learning and strives to integrate writing instruction across the disciplines and throughout a student’s undergraduate career.  Its main idea is that students benefit from learning discipline-specific writing conventions. Please contact Professor Peele at tpeele@ccny.cuny.edu for more information.
